Elementary Writers Winter Camp: An Introduction to Creative Writing
Dates: 12/13/2025 – 1/10/2026, every Saturday from 10 – 11:30 am

Age Group: K-5
Description: In this 4-week workshop series, students will explore the foundations of storytelling, learn powerful literary devices, build confidence in their voice, and have fun playing with language. Students will be led by experienced, nationally-recognized teen mentors.
Finding Your Voice: Writing From Personal Experience
Dates: 2/12/2026 – 2/13/2026, from 4 – 5: 30 pm
Location: Online
Age Group: Middle & High School
Description: Unleash your creativity and build the “writing muscle” you need for future success! This two-day intensive is designed to help you convert raw ideas into engaging pieces. Through a fun mix of interactive games, engaging lectures, and dedicated writing time, you’ll learn how to use literary devices to sharpen your artistic intuition and write with confidence.
Telling Your Story: Creative Narrative Writing for Teens
Dates: 4/11/2026, from 3:30 – 5 pm
Location: Newport Way Library, 14250 SE Newport Way, Bellevue, WA 98006
Age Group: Middle & High School
Description: Calling all teen writers! Participants will join a supportive community of young creatives and engage in share-outs, group activities and games. Learn tools to help you write from personal experience and guide you in the development of your unique artistic voice. Most of all, connect with other teens who love to write.

The Inkroot Project was founded by young writers, for young writers. Our team is dedicated and passionate about providing fun, collaborative creative writing instruction for students across the Puget Sound.
