We offer regular community-centered events and workshops for students in grades 10-12. These workshops are meant to be vibrant, judgement-free spaces where young writers can gather, write intensively, and be in community with other creative teens. Through a mix of module-based lectures, writing activities, passage analysis, and workshop/revision time, our workshops are designed to be as engaging as possible for middle school writers. Click the link below to receive updates and details when workshops open up.

For students grades K-5

Our workshops for elementary school students are built to expose budding writers to a variety of literary genres and styles. Our curriculum focuses on teaching the building blocks of creative writing, including character, plot, setting, voice, and tone, while also encouraging experimentation and risk-taking. Our 100% free workshops are an excellent way to supplement ELA curriculum! They’re designed specifically to jumpstart student interest in the literary arts, as well as guide them through the basics of creative writing.

For teachers, The Inkroot Project gives students a chance to dive deeper into creative writing outside the classroom. We offer spaces where young learners can play with language, build confidence, and explore their ideas through writing. Our programs are designed to complement and enrich your English Language Arts curriculum.

For students, The Inkroot Project is a low-stakes, flexible way to explore creative writing and connect with other young writers. Although there is no “right” way to write, our goal is to provide you with the arsenal of literary techniques at a writer’s disposal to help you create thought-provoking, engaging works.
